The Easter weekend is fast approaching and with it being one of the main weekends for DIY enthusiasts we urge you to know your limits and call on a professional plumber when tehe task at hands seems more challenging. With the current situation regarding Covid-19, many of us have unfortunately are in lock down in our homes so those jobs you’ve been putting off will seem ll the more tempting to tackle.

Please remember that the once abundance of available plumbers has vastly depleted due to sickness, self isolating and non essential plumbers taking leave.  With this extra time on our hands it is forcing us to do all those garden and home jobs that we have been putting off, including jobs that require a professional plumber, electrician, floor fitter or gardener.  It is during these times that some projects can prove to be too much for the average DIYer.

When it comes to plumbing projects, these can include replacing a tap, adding a water filter or fixing a non flushing toilet.  Where many of us can competently complete fairly simple tasks we just advise people to be careful when tackling any project that they are not 100% sure about.  It will be difficult right now to simply call a plumber to come and fix an emergency during these trying times and wait times may be severely increased.  This is not ideal if water is pouring out of a bad joint or your toilet is no longer flushing.

Over the years we have seen and had to put right many failed DIY projects which have turned out to cost much more in the long run due to water damage caused by badly fitted pipes.

If you can’t get a professional plumber to come out at the moment please hold off any plumbing jobs until you know you can call on a plumber if needed or get a quote off your local plumber.
