Project Overview
We were found through Google after the client saw our 360+ 5 star reviews. They needed a full bathroom transformation at their home in Northfield, Birmingham. We did everything from start to finish – stripped out the old bathroom right through to the final touches.
What We Did
Getting Started We removed everything – the old toilet, sink, shower, tiles and flooring. Everything came out, right back to the bare walls. We disposed of all the waste properly and made sure the place was clean for the next stage.
Structural Work Once we could see the bare brickwork we checked everything was sound. We fixed any issues with the walls and made sure we had a solid, level surface to work with. This foundation work matters – it’s what makes everything else last.
First Fix Work Before we could close the walls we ran new water pipes to where the shower, sink and radiator would go. We connected the waste pipes and soil stack for proper drainage. The central heating pipework went in at this stage too.
We also installed new electrical circuits for the lights, extractor fan and shower. Everything was tested and certified before we moved on.
Installing the New Bathroom
Heating We fitted a new radiator with proper pipework. It’s balanced so the room heats evenly.
Shower The new shower tray sits at the right angle for proper drainage. We connected it to the existing drainage and sealed everything with waterproof adhesive and silicone. The mixer valve and controls went in with concealed pipework for a clean look.
The shower enclosure uses toughened safety glass, sealed with high grade silicone around every edge. Behind the shower we applied waterproof tanking to stop any moisture getting through. Every joint and hole is properly sealed.
Toilet and Basin We fitted a modern toilet with new waste and water connections. The basin has a mixer tap and all the pipework is hidden where possible. Everything is sealed to prevent leaks.
Storage and Mirrors Bespoke storage went in using fixings designed for wet environments. The mirror is secured with moisture resistant fixings that won’t rust or fail.
Final Touches We finished the room with high quality tile effect panels. Every seal is watertight and the whole job meets current building regulations.
